(Oneida, NY – March 2013) The Oneida Indian Nation Recreation Department invites boys from across the community to participate in its spring lacrosse program. The program is for boys in grades 9 to 11 and is free to join.
Each Thursday through April 25, open lacrosse time in the Oneida Nation’s gymnasium will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The open time will help players to develop lacrosse skills such as scooping, cradling, passing, catching, shooting and footwork. There will be controlled scrimmages supervised by the Oneida Nation Recreation Department staff. Participants must provide a lacrosse stick, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, cleats, mouthguard and athletic protector.
The gymnasium and Recreation Department are located on Territory Road in Oneida, approximately 3 miles south from the intersection of Routes 5 and 46.
Registration and waiver forms must be completed by a parent or guardian prior to their child’s first practice.
To register, call Dakota Bluewolf or Brian Conners at the Oneida Nation Recreation Department at (315) 829-8484.
