(Hamilton, NY – March 2013) This April, join the Hamilton Public Library and Colgate Bookstore in celebrating National Poetry Month. Visit the library and bookstore websites to sign up to receive a Poem-a-Day by email, courtesy of The Academy of American Poets.
Stop by either location throughout the month to take a “Poem for Your Pocket” or browse our poetry books on display.
We will be hosting a reception for the Community Art Show Thursday, April 4, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.; refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
We hope you’ll join us in honoring our many artistic community members. The exhibit will remain on display through mid-May.
Our nonfiction collection has a few new additions ready for reading. The Hamilton Rotary Club recently donated Creating Room to Read: a Story of Hope in the Battle for Global Literacy. Author John Wood explains his vision for making books accessible to communities worldwide, by creating thousands of libraries in just a few short years.
In Any Given Monday, renowned sports medicine practitioner Dr. James R. Andrews offers sport-by-sport wisdom for injury prevention, as well as treatment.
Hilary Virgil is director of the Hamilton Public Library. The library is usually open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call the library at (315) 824-3060, during these hours for assistance.
