(Morrisville, NY – March 26, 2013) The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State College freshman goalkeeper, Cailin Dunphy (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) the women’s lacrosse defensive player of the week.

Dunphy recorded her first collegiate win between the pipes for the Mustangs last week, recording 23 saves and a 65.7 save percentage to preserve an 18-12 victory over non-conference opponent Misericordia. Seven of Dunphy’s saves were in the closing minutes of the second half, made on the doorstop of the crease.

Dunphy currently leads the conference in save percentage and is second in saves recorded on the season.

The graduate of Putnam Valley High is majoring in accounting at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Alice and Rich Dunphy of Putnam Valley.
