4-H Horse Bowl is an educational contest, in which 4-H’ers learn many aspects of the horse and how to work as a team member. This accumulated knowledge is tested in the form of a contest, similar to a “College Quiz Bowl” competition. Participants enhance their study skills by using selected reference materials on a variety of topics in the equine field.

4-H Hippology is a unique and challenging contest in the 4-H Horse Program that allows 4-H’ers to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired in their 4-H Horse Program projects as well as their competency in practical horse management.  The Regional event uses five different phases in which the 4-Hers express their equine learning through written test, team problem, judging, tack & equipment ID and hands-on stations.
