(Cazenovia, NY – April 2013) Hyde Park on Hudson and Promised Land close out the April movie schedule at the Cazenovia Public Library.

Academy Award nominees Bill Murray and Laura Linney star in this engaging and romantic look at one of the most pivotal meetings in history. As Great Britain faces an imminent war with Germany, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor invite the King and Queen of England for a weekend at their home in upstate New York. But during the first-ever visit of a reigning British monarch to America, international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR’s domestic establishment (Amazon.com).

Hyde Park on Hudson will be shown Friday, April 19, at 1 and 7 p.m. It is rated R and runs for 95 minutes.

Starring Matt Damon, Promised Land is a compelling contemporary drama in which an ambitious salesperson for a natural gas corporation and his partner have been dispatched to a small Pennsylvania town to convince the people there to allow hydraulic fracturing in their backyards. What seems like an easy job for the duo quickly becomes complicated by a respected schoolteacher, a slick environmental activist and an interesting local woman. As they grapple with a surprising array of both open hearts and closed doors, the stakes suddenly rise to the boiling point (Amazon.com).

Promised Land will be shown Wednesday, April 24, at 1 and 7 p.m. Also rated R, this film runs for 107 minutes.

As always, admission and popcorn are free.
