(Hamilton, NY – April 2013) The Hamilton Business Alliance and Partnership for Community Development invite the community to nominate a local business, an entrepreneur and an economic development advocate for recognition at the first “Celebrating Business in Hamilton” awards presentation sponsored by the HBA and the Partnership for Community Development.
The three awards will be presented Wednesday, June 12, at the HBA/PCD annual meeting.
Nominations are being sought for:
Business of the Year:
* must be a private sector organization in Hamilton;
* must demonstrate adaptation and growth in a competitive business environment;
* must provide quality service and customer choice to its customers; and
* must exhibit ongoing community service or support of community programs through donations of time and monetary resources.
Entrepreneur of the Year:
* must be an individual who has a business in Hamilton;
* must bring an innovative product or service to Hamilton that acts as a catalyst for further economic growth; and
* must assume considerable initiative and risk bringing their product or service to Hamilton.
Economic Development Advocate of the Year:
* must be an individual who is not a professional economic developer; and
* must have a record of exhibiting outstanding leadership, support or cooperation in furthering and supporting community and economic development efforts in Hamilton.
Anyone may nominate candidates for the awards, including self-nomination. Please include the following information: business owner’s or individual’s name, address, phone and email, and business name, if applicable.
Send a brief letter (limit 350 words) outlining the reasons a person or business should be considered for the award according to the criteria aforementioned.
Nominations must be submitted by May 10 and may be e-mailed to hamiltonpcd@gmail.com, mailed to P.O. Box 37, Hamilton, N.Y. 13346 or dropped off at the PCD office at 11 Payne St.
. Five finalists will be selected for each award.
