(Center Valley, Pa. – April 23, 2013) The Colgate women’s lacrosse team had three of its players recognized for their play this season, including Amanda O’Sullivan and Jenna Frost earning spots on the All-Patriot League First Team.
O’Sullivan, who was a co-captain with the Raiders this season, led the team with a career-high 35 goals and also set a career mark with 40 points, which was second on the squad behind Kate Sheridan’s 41 points. She posted new career-highs in ground balls and draw controls with 22 and 31, respectively. O’Sullivan finished her career with 106 points on 91 goals and 15 assists. She appeared in all 15 games in 2013 and recorded five of Colgate’s seven gamewinning goals.
Frost earned her second postseason honor of her career after being selected to the second team a season ago. She was one of three defenders to make the All-Patriot League First Team. Frost finished the regular season second in the league in ground balls with 34 and 2.27 per contest. She easily led the team in caused turnovers with 24, which was 12 ahead of second. That mark was second in the conference behind Lafayette’s Ana White, who had 31. It was the second-straight season that Frost was in the top five in each category. After two seasons, she is just outside the Colgate top-10 in career caused turnovers with 55.
Joining the first teamers was Alison Flood, who got second team All-Patriot League honors for her first postseason award of her career. The junior was all over the field for the Raiders this season with 31 points on a career-high 30 goals and one assist. She really stepped up on draw controls with a new career mark of 37. She continued to be a steady player for Colgate as she has started in every game so far in three seasons. Flood was second on the team behind O’Sullivan with her 30 tallies and her 37 draws were one behind Lauren Gorajek for the team lead.
