(Hamilton, NY- April 2013) Authors, authors, everywhere! The community has been fortunate to have hosted several authors within the last month. Colgate’s Office of Advancement has generously donated several copies of Sheryl Sandberg’s book “Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead” for our library collection.

Sandberg has become widely known through her work with Facebook and was recently a guest speaker at Colgate’s Entrepreneur Weekend.

The Colgate Bookstore has also donated the novels “Learning to Swim” and “A Cold and Lonely Place,” both written by author Sara J. Henry, who was the guest of honor last week for their program “A Warm and Friendly Evening.”

Peter Sagal, popular host of NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me,” was recently hosted by Palace Theater. A number of Sagal’s books and audio performances are also available through the Mid-York Library System.

But wait, there’s more! The library has also added a number of popular new DVDs to our collection including Downton Abbey seasons one through three; Life of Pi; Lincoln; The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey; Wreck-It Ralph and Hotel Transylvania.

The new DVDs are being featured for a time on the top shelf of the movie display.

Sign your child up to receive a free book each month! The library is beginning to host the Dolly Parton Imagination Library locally. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers under age five are eligible to enroll if they live within the Hamilton Central School District.

Stop by our kick-off event Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to noon to find out more about the program and enroll. The kick-off event will also feature entertainment by local story tellers, children’s crafts, and refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library. We hope you’ll join us!
