Varsity 8+ Finishes Fifth, Varsity 4+ Fourth at Conference Championship Regatta

(Worcester, Mass. – May 17, 2013) Colgate turned in a fifth-place result at Friday’s Patriot League Rowing Championship on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Raiders’ Varsity 8+ covered the 2,000-meter distance in 6 minutes and 44.794 seconds to place fifth, while Colgate’s Varsity 4+ crossed the line in fourth place with a time of 7:43.088. Colgate finished the competition with nine points.
Navy won both the Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ races to claim 35 points and win its second Patriot League title – and first since the inaugural championship regatta in 2005. Bucknell finished second with 29 points.
