(Oneida, NY – June 2013) Madison Cortland ARC announces award recipients to be honored at its annual membership and awards dinner at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Greater Oneida Kallet Civic Center, Main Street, Oneida.
The following awards will be presented at the dinner: Employer of the Year will be presented to Sodexo at Colgate for employing people with disabilities; Executive Director’s Award will go to Erica Ostwald from Oriskany Falls; President’s Award will go to the Madison Cortland ARC Service Coordination Department; Business Appreciation Award will be presented to A Sprinkle and a Dash, and the Volunteer of the Year will be presented to Nancy Jones.
A new award will be presented this year, the Sandra DuBuke Direct Support Professional Award named after the Oneida resident who was employed by Madison Cortland ARC as a direct support professional for over 20 years. Sandra lost her battle to cancer in 2012. The Sandra DuBuke Direct Support Professional Award will be given to Cory Aubeuf-Loucks for her caring commitment and dedication to helping people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
Aubeuf-Loucks is employed by the Madison Cortland ARC and works in the Senior Program.
The Special Achievement Award is always the highlight at the Madison Cortland ARC annual dinner. It is presented to an individual with disabilities who has overcome challenges in their life. This year, the ARC will be presenting a Special Achievement Award to three individuals, Brandy Bedell from Oneida, Ronald Marion from Cortland and Michelle Wolfe from Oneida. All three people have made tremendous strides in their lives and will be recognized at the dinner.
Following the awards presentation will be a cocktail reception to welcome new Executive Director Jack Campbell and to say thank you and goodbye to Ray Lewandowski who is retiring as executive director after 41 years of service at Madison Cortland ARC.
