SilverwoodClarinetChoirSilouette4C(Oneida, NY – July 2013) In its first appearance in the Oneida area, the Silverwood Clarinet Choir will perform a free concert of popular and classical favorites at Oneida Public Library Tuesday, July 23, at 7 p.m.

The 12-member ensemble will play entertaining and musically challenging works by George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, Henry Mancini, Glenn Miller, Gioachino Rossini and others. The Choir uses the full range of the clarinet family to produce a richly textured sound not unlike a vocal choir: Eb sopranino clarinets, Bb clarinets, alto clarinet, bass clarinets, contra alto clarinet, contrabass clarinet and basset horn.

The Silverwood Clarinet Choir has performed at venues throughout Central New York, including Syracuse University, Temple Concord, the Everson Museum of Art and a number of public libraries.

The Silverwood Clarinet Choir, founded in 2006, is conducted by Pamela Mastrobattisto. Its members include Holly Bossert, Mark Bossert, Melanie Bulawa, Kathleen Freer, Kenneth Freer, Paul DiPastena, Liza Grethel, Wally Merriam, Genevive Pandori, Aileen Razey, Colleen Reynolds, Linda Spinella and Terri Tallman.

The concert is free and open to the public, but seating will be limited. For more information, stop by the Oneida Library, 220 Broad St., or call 363-3050.
