(Canastota, NY – July 2013) The 132nd annual Alumni Banquet was held at the Rusty Rail on June 22 with approximately 160 people in attendance. Guests of the Alumni included members of the classes from 1939 to 1943, members of the 2013 graduating class and those individuals receiving awards.
Following the invocation, a short business meeting was held to approve the Officers and new Board Members for 2013 -14.
Newest Alumni guests included graduates Trista Lampson, Rebecca Emmerich, Emily Fox and the Alumni scholarship recipient, Joseph Tiller.
The Alumni Award recipients present were Douglas Gustin (The Vincent V. Albanese Achievement Award), Douglas Wilbur (Educator’s Award) and Angelo (Pat) Mitchell III (Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Canastota Central Schools Maintenance Department.) Absent was Paul O’Donnell who was the recipient of the same award presented to Mitchell.
Steven Tornatore presented the names for those receiving the Distinguished Alumni awards to be presented at a dinner to be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Rusty Rail. The recipients are as follows: Gary Hall (class ‘62) and John R. Mengucci (class ‘44) both posthumously. Also being recognized will be Michael Milmoe (class ‘49, and Dr. Michael Picciano class of (‘82).
Roll Call of Classes was taken and the banquet ended with the singing of the Canastota Central School Alma Mater followed by Benediction.
