(Canastota, NY – July 2013) The village of Canastota and the Canal Town Museum invite the public to attend the dedication of the Canal Street Murals painted by Corky Goss depicting the Erie Canal in Canastota around the year 1900.
The Sunday Aug. 11 opening ceremony will be at 2 p.m. in the newly-created visitors’ park at the corner of Canal and Peterboro Streets.
The ceremony will also include the celebration of the coming of the Erie Canal Brewing Co. LLC, brewers of Mule Skinner Pale Ale, by owner Sam Lanzafane. Symbolizing the brewery will be two mules pulling a boat loaded with hops and barley.
Other activities will include the opening of an Art Show featuring works of Corky Goss and local artists, providing an opportunity to meet the artists.
Also featured will be canal-related activities and an open house/reception in the Canal Town Museum.
