(Hamilton, NY – Aug. 15, 2013) Head coach Bobby Pennington has announced the hiring of Jamie Scott as the new assistant coach for Colgate men’s and women’s tennis.
Scott is coming to Colgate after spending the last two years as a tennis staff professional at The Meadow Club in Southampton, N.Y., and the Louisville Tennis Club in Kentucky. She gave private lessons to all ages, ran clinics and developed strategy for nationally-ranked juniors in Louisville.
While working at the clubs, Nelson was the Director of Social Media and Public Relations for the Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camps. She was responsible for all social media platforms and created news and releases to distribute to appropriate publications.
“We are very excited to welcome Jaime to the Colgate Tennis and Athletic Family. She has an outstanding tennis background, having played four years of high-level division I tennis at Wyoming,” Pennington said. “Jamie also has an extensive teaching background from Louisville to the Hamptons. I look for her to help me continue to take our program to new heights.”
She was a four-year tennis player at the University of Wyoming in the Mountain West Conference and was a two-time team captain. In addition to her work on the court, she was a team representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Scott spent three years, while at Wyoming, as an assistant director for the Premier Sports Camps. She spent one year working in the media relations department for the Cowboys, writing press releases, updating the website and keeping statistics at home games.
Scott graduated from Wyoming in 2009 with a bachelor’s in journalism with a concentration in public relations, while also earning a minor in marketing.
