GSC logo high res(Canastota, Town of Lenox, NY – Aug. 2013) Kindred Kingdom Wildlife Rehabilitation-Birds of Prey will be one of the many attractions at the 2013 Annual Fall Migration Festival and BBQ held at the Great Swamp Conservancy of Canastota on Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is presented as an olde hometown, family oriented, country style festival full of things to do and see.

The annual festival is in honor of the migratory birds returning to their winter homes where the food source is abundant.

The GSC will host artists, crafters, and antique vendors selling their wares.

This nature celebration will feature music, vermiposting, GSC hiking passport, children’s area, and live animals.

Visitors can take a migration ride (weather permitting) by tractor and wagon to the Overlook (a great migratory resting area), every hour on the hour and learn fun migration facts as they travel to this 60-acre wetland in search of migratory birds.

A “Basket Extravaganza” raffle will be available, which consists of baskets full items donated by: Seneca Trails, Graziano’s Restaurant, Top Stitch, Eleanor Jones, Susan Peebles, Carol Cotton and the Leroy’s.

Guests can picnic on the grounds or take out the GSC chicken BBQ from 11 a.m. until all is sold. The $8 per meal includes: quarter-chicken, baked beans, baked potato, and roll. A quarter-chicken is $4.

Suggested donation of $3/adult, $2/GSC members, $1/children under 12.

There are still a few spaces left for outdoor vendors. Call the GSC at 697-2950.

The GSC is located at North Main Street Road in Canastota.
