(Cazenovia, NY – Sept. 2013) Broadway sensation Jennifer Holliday headlines the 2013 AmeriCU Jazz-N-Caz, to be held Thursday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Catherine Cummings Theatre at Cazenovia College.

In addition to Jennifer Holliday, the 12th Annual Jazz-N-Caz lineup features Jeff Stockham & the Jazz Police; The Allan Harris Band; Al Chez & the Brothers of Funk; and Igor Butman & the Moscow Jazz Orchestra.

A Special Tribute to the late Jack Maheu – one of the finest clarinetists in all of jazz and a member of the original Salt City Five –  will take place on Friday evening, Sept. 20, featuring Warren Chiasson on vibes, Danny D’ Imperio on drums, Ron Joseph on clarinet, and Linc Milliman on bass.

According to Theatre Manager and Jazz-N-Caz Chair Colleen Prossner,  Maheu was the first hired musician at the inception of Jazz-N-Caz 12 years ago and went on to play four more years.

“Jack was an incredible musician who graced our stage but, more importantly, he was a dear friend to Cazenovia College,” said Prossner.  “We are grateful that he was able to share his talents with the College and community for so many years.”
