(Morrisville, NY – Sept. 10, 2013)  The Morrisville State College field hockey team fell in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon to visiting Hartwick College by a 6-1 final.

The Mustangs drop to 0-4 overall while the Hawks pull even at 2-2.

Morrisville State’s lone score came from senior forward Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, N.Y.) with less than a minute to go in the opening half, as she juked the Hartwick defender and fired a slap shot from the center of the circle for the score.

Sarah Ryan and Kelly Kramer each posted two scores to lead Hartwick, who held a 2-1 lead at the half.

Nicole Gregg (Whitney Point, N.Y.) posted the loss in net, making 15 saves, including 11 in the second half, as Hartwick held the 21-3 advantage in shots on goal.

The Hawks controlled the circle, having 14 penalty corner opportunities to the Mustangs 4.

Morrisville State returns to the field Sunday, traveling to Nazareth College for a noon start.
