Morrisville State Lacrosse logo(Albany, NY- Sept. 18, 2013) The Morrisville State College men’s soccer team got back on track Wednesday afternoon, posting a convincing 4-0 victory over host Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany.

The win lifts the Mustangs to 3-2-1 overall, while Albany Pharmacy drops to 2-3 on the season.

Chernor Barrie (Bronx, N.Y.) led Morrisville State with a goal and assist, while four additional teammates contributed to the scoring on the day.

Barrie opened scoring for the Mustangs, notching the tally off a chip from Brian Culkin (West Islip, N.Y.) from the midfield, and burying the shot in the bottom right of the net just 14:52 in.

Greg Stallone (Hicksville, N.Y.) made it a 2-0 ball game with his first tally of the season, connecting on a feed from Barrie from the lower left of the box in the 33rd minute.

Seconds before the half, freshman Philemon Appiah (Kumasi, Ghana) recorded his first collegiate goal off an assist from Alan Peckham (Webster, N.Y.) for the three goal advantage.

Carmel Addae (Kumasi, Ghana) put the game away in the second half, posting the unassisted score in the 61st minute.

Eric Berglund (Elmira, N.Y.) made three stops to earn his first collegiate win as a Mustang.

Morrisville State returns to the field Saturday, hosting NEAC foe SUNY Cobleskill at 5 p.m. for the Mustangs “homecoming” match.
