(Oneida, NY – Sept. 26, 2013) Barbara McDermott is the new Assistant Executive Director at Madison Cortland ARC.
McDermott began her career at Madison Cortland ARC as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, and then later held the following positions: Service Coordinator, Family Support Coordinator, Guardianship Coordinator, Quality Assurance Director, Compliance Officer, and Director of Quality Management. Barb has been employed by Madison Cortland ARC since 1986.
McDermott is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelors Degree in psychology, and received her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Syracuse University. She is the recipient of the 2009 CNY Community Foundation John Marsellus Sabbatical Award and received national certification in Healthcare Compliance.
She serves on NYSARC Quality Standards Consulting and Support Team representing all of New York State.
McDermott is married to Madison County Judge Dennis K. McDermott and resides in Oneida. She and her husband have two adult children and two grandchildren.
