(Brookfield, NY – Oct. 1, 2013) Gorgeous weather provided a perfect weekend for pulling, crashing, cruisin’, and “wheel” fun at the 42nd annual edition of Wheel Days, Sept. 27 to 29. Every event boosted a record or a near record breaking number of participants.

The truck pulls fielded a near record number with approximately 70 diesel trucks and 50 gas trucks competing for the best pull. The tractors broke all recent records with approximately 83 tractors spinning down the track attempting to out pull one another.

The Demolition Derby boosted one of the highest number of vehicles in recent years, attracting participants from the edge of Vermont to Pennsylvania, with 156 cars and trucks destined for destruction.

The 8 cylinder feature winner was Matt Menard of Earlville, Eric Eberling of Otego captured the 4 cylinder win, and Jordan Dunagan of Sherburne smashed his way to success in the truck heat. The rollover contest ended in a tie between Randy Miller of Sherburne and Rudy King of Brookfield.

“Just Cruise-In” car show broke their record with 142 show vehicles on the grounds. The Best of Show trophy winner was a1951 Mercury owned by Al Hauser of Richfield Springs.

First place in the Driver’s Choice division was awarded to a 1972 AMX Javelin owned by Gene Sinardo of Waterville; the second place winner was a 1955 Ford Custom owned by Milt Shepler of Norwich. A 1959 Ford F1000 owned by Smokey Kimball of Blossvale captured first place in the People’s choice division and second place was awarded to a 1970 Buick Convertible owned by Tony Paino of Madison.

This year’s Sponsor Choice winner was a 1964 Ford F100 owned by Eddie Baxter of Plymouth.
