Bovee(Oneida, NY – Oct. 4, 2013) A joint investigation by the US Marshal Service and the State Police Computer Crime Unit resulted in the arrest of Roy A. Bovee, age 26, from Canastota.

The investigation began when police received a complaint of an individual posting ads on “Craigslist” looking for “younger” females.  The digital trail led to Bovee and information obtained revealed that Bovee was a registered sex offender out of California, who was in violation of his registration requirements.  An arrest warrant was issued for Bovee for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in violation of 18 USC Section 2250(a).

This arrest follows a long standing working relationship between the Marshal’s Service and the State Police Computer Crime Unit who were recently cross designated as Special Deputy US Marshals as part of the NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.  The Marshal Service and State Police were assisted by the State Police Violent Felony Warrant Squad, Oneida City Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Madison County Probation.
