meetings(Town of Lebanon, NY – Oct. 2013) The Town of Lebanon Town Board will hold a budget workshop on the proposed 2014 town budget Monday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Office, 1210 Bradley Brook Road, in the hamlet.

This is a special meeting of the town board and is open to the public.

Any additional budget requests or salary requests would be heard at that time. We will be reviewing the budget by line item and discussing anticipated budget expenses for 2014.

We will also be using the special town board meeting to discuss any updates with respect to the Georgetown ambulance situation and action on the former Town Justice audit. We will be holding a public hearing on Nov. 11 to take public comment on plans for the town to establish and authorize a municipal ambulance service for the Town which our attorney advises is the first step in the process of establishing the ability to contract with the Town of Georgetown for ambulance services since the state Department of Health ruling on the current service provision.

To comply with the tax cap for 2014, we must stay within 1.66 percent increase and this budget currently is at 1.45 percent increase but we are unclear at this juncture how our FEMA reimbursement and other highway factors will play out for this winter and next spring.

Please contact me with any questions at 837-4152 or 691-3311 this weekend.
