Two-Day Event Part of Lehigh Week; Highlights Include Celebration of Magical 2003 Season
By John Painter
(Hamilton, NY – Nov. 2013) Colgate Football welcomes all Raider alumni, parents, friends and fans to a football reunion weekend next month in conjunction with this season’s home game against Lehigh.
Set for Nov. 15-16, highlights include halftime recognition on the field of all football alumni in attendance, along with a postgame celebration of the 2003 Colgate team that advanced all the way to the NCAA Championship Final. The Raiders that year in the playoffs went from snow to sun, defeating Massachusetts and Western Illinois on home turf before beating Florida Atlantic in Miami to advance to the final.
“This will be a great weekend, with events for all on both Friday and Saturday,” said Dick Biddle, head coach of the 2003 squad and last year’s Patriot League Coach of the Year. “I hope you can return to Hamilton, catch up with old friends and teammates, and watch us take on Lehigh.
“It should be a great event and weekend together.”
Other festivities over the two days include a Friday night reception at the Colgate Inn, Saturday pregame tailgate and 1 p.m. kickoff, and the postgame function at Donovan’s Pub to watch video highlights of the magical 2003 run to Chattanooga.
