IMG_2439(Hamilton NY – Nov. 2013) Here Comes Santa—once again to visit all the little boys and girls from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at The Palace Theater. Of course Frosty, Rudolph and Santa’s elves will be there as well to greet the kids.

This event is free and open to the public.

“Santa and I have been talking for several weeks and he is excited to return for his annual special visit.” says Patricia von Mechow, Santa’s local elf.  “Of course, he’ll return Dec. 24 to their homes with a toy bag filled with special surprises!”

The journey starts as Train Conductor Fred welcomes everyone and invites the kids to ride the Curtis Express, pose behind holiday cut-outs, create holiday crafts and play reindeer games. New this year is a Ginger Bread House with Gingerbread Ladies happy to help kids make a holiday craft. After a visit with Santa, enjoy cookies and hot chocolate. Hillary Virgil, director of the Hamilton Public Library will read special holiday favorites from 3 until 4 p.m. in the reading nook.

For $5 the Hamilton Lion’s Club will snap an instant digital photo of your child with Santa, ready to take home in a decorative holiday card in just minutes. All proceeds from the photos go toward helping the Lion’s serve the greater Hamilton community.

The Holiday festivities kick off with Hamilton’s annual Night of Lights Friday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning at the south end of the village green where Santa Claus will appear on the fire truck.

Mayor Margaret Miller, along with honorees for exemplary community service will throw the switch to light the tree to kick off the festivities.

Free horse-drawn trolley rides begin at 6:15 p.m. in front of the village office.

Also enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, luminaries on the village green and carolers.

The “North Pole” (Palace Theater) is located at 19 Utica St.
