(Town of Eaton, NY – Nov. 22, 2013) Morrisville-Eaton’s Tiffany Phillips was recognized as an “Outstanding Educator” at the Genesis Group’s 8th Annual Celebration of Education.  The honors ceremony was held at the Harts Hill Inn in Whitesboro on Nov. 21.

Phillips was one of only 25 educators in the entire Mohawk Region to receive the distinction this year.

She is currently teaching Kindergarten at the Edward R. Andrews Elementary Building and has been working with Morrisville-Eaton students since 1994.

During these past two decades Phillips has been a teacher mentor for more than a half-dozen teachers, a grade-level team leader, the elementary lead teacher, a member of the team that put together the Writers Jubilee (which won Genesis recognition as a program of distinction last year), a turn-key trainer for the teacher center and a faculty member of the R. Harry Lyndon Fund Committee.

Phillips also has helped with P.A.R.P., kindergarten family nights, the district’s High Achievement Project focused on Literacy, and numerous other initiatives.

Her nomination noted that, “The hallmark of Tiffany’s impact as a teacher, however, is her work with students who come to her with very challenging home lives.  These students come to her during their first years of school…. so many times that she has been the light of those students’ lives, and provided hope as well as a strong education.”

The Morrisville-Eaton Central School District congratulates Phillips and is grateful for all that she does on behalf of its students and school community.
