(Plattsburgh, NY – Nov. 24, 2013) The Morrisville State College women’s basketball team finished fourth overall at the Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic held over the weekend, dropping a 76-44 final decision to Clarkson in the consolation round.
The loss is the second straight for the Mustangs, who boast a 1-3 overall record heading into Tuesday’s North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener against Keuka.
Danielle Ooms (Valatie, N.Y.) came off the bench to lead Morrisville State, netting 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from long range in just 10 minutes of action. Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 10 points and two steals, earning all-tournament recognition for a second time this season.
Akiella Parks (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) controlled the glass for the Mustangs, pulling down eight of their total 31.
Clarkson’s Cara Manfredi led all scorers with 30 points, draining six from beyond the arc, while hitting a total 10-of-18 attempts. Ashley Loggins posted a double-double, recording 17 points while grabbing 13 rebounds, 10 on the offensive glass.
Clarkson out rebounded the Mustangs 62-31, while outshooting Morrisville State 34.7 percent to 25.5.
