(Morrisville, NY – Dec. 2013) The Morrisville State College athletic department has named Caroline Detzi (Pen Argyl, Pa.) and Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 24.
Detzi assisted the hunt seat equestrian team to reserve high point show honors, posting a second in the novice equitation over fences class, before capturing the blue ribbon with a win in the novice flat class.
The freshman is majoring in equine science and management at Morrisville State. She is a graduate of Pen Argyl High School.
Hanks, senior guard for the men’s basketball team was key to the Mustangs 1-1 week. In two games last week, he compiled 30 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the floor, while adding 11 rebounds, eight assists and two steals to his tallies.
Hanks posted a week high 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the loss to Geneseo.
The senior is a graduate of Henninger High and is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of Ethel and Shawn Hanks of Syracuse.
