oneida-public-library (Oneida, NY – Jan. 2014) Focusing on the Inuit tribes who live above the Arctic Circle, Professor Jen Herzog reveals to elementary- and middle-school students how human beings survive extreme temperatures in winter in the next session of After-school Science at Oneida Public Library, January 14, at 4 p.m.

The secret is blubber. Herzog, a professor of biology at Herkimer Community College, will provide students with a hands-on experiment to discover for themselves the essential powers of whale and seal blubber in the Inuit/Eskimo diet.

The program is free and open to all elementary- and middle-school students. For more information, stop by the library, 220 Broad St., or call 363-3050.
