Hamilton Public Library News
By Hilary Virgil, Library Director
(Hamilton, NY – Jan. 13, 2014) Thinking of health and wellness in the New Year? In addition to the books, magazines, and wellness videos available in our local library collection, and through inter-library loan, consider exploring the health resources available to us through the Mid York Library System.
The “Natural Standard” database offers access to high-quality, evidence-based information about complementary and alternative therapies and medicine. “Gale Health Reference Center Academic” provides full text articles from nursing and allied health journals, along with a variety of personal health information sources.” Both databases are included in the Digital Reference Materials section of our library website, located under the Library Resources tab. You will need to enter your library card number when prompted in order to access these resources.
If you have questions about these digital resources or the other online reference materials available through the Library Website, Matthew Davis, our Digital Services and Outreach Coordinator, is here to help! Feel free to stop by or make reservations to meet with Matt. Please call ahead (315-280-8171) or email him at mdavis@midyork.org to confirm his availability if you are making a special trip to the library for help.
The library will be closed Monday, Jan. 20 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Additional information about library resources, programs and policies, as well as access to our online services, is available through the library website http://midyorklib.org/hamilton/. From the website, you can also sign up for our listserv and Wowbrary notices to receive emails about general library news and newly added materials in our collections.
The library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 10am to1pm. Please visit or call the library (315) 824-3060 during these hours for assistance. The book drop at the front of the building is always available for your convenience.
