(Oneida, NY – Jan. 2014) The Oneida Public Library Board of Trustees has scheduled the annual library budget vote and trustee election for Tuesday, March 4, with the poll in the library Meeting Room open from noon to 9 p.m.

All registered voters in the OPL’s Special Legislature District are eligible to vote. The special district, which is co-extensive with the Oneida City School District, covers Oneida City, Wampsville and portions of the towns of Lenox and Lincoln in Madison County plus Oneida Castle, Durhamville and portions of Sylvan Beach and of the towns of Vernon, Vienna and Verona in Oneida County.

Any eligible voter who wishes to vote by absentee ballot should request an application for an absentee ballot from the OPL director, Carolyn Gerakopoulos, at 363-3050, or by picking one up at the library, 220 Broad St.

According to the Madison County Board of Elections, a voter can request an absentee ballot because of absence from the county on election day, temporary or permanent illness or disability, being a primary caregiver for an ill or disabled person, detention in jail awaiting action by a grand jury or a trial or detention in jail for an offense other than felony.
