Senior Master Sergeant Thomas Moade Best NCO among 2,000 Air National Guard Logisitians
(Latham, NY – Feb. 2014) New York Air National Guard Senior Master Sgt. Thomas W. Moade, of the 174th Attack Wing Logistics Readiness Squadron, was recently selected as the Air National Guard’s Logistics Readiness Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) of the year for 2013.
Air National Guard Col. Jeffrey Bozard, the Director of Logistics at the Air National Guard Bureau, announced the selection of Moade from Deruyter, NY.
The award recognizes the best Logistics SNCO from among all Air National Guard logistics units for outstanding contributions to the success of the Air National Guard, Air Force, and Department of Defense missions.
Moade’s exceptional performance and achievements made him the winner compared to more than 2,000 Senior NCOs among 89 logistics squadrons within all the Air National Guard bases in the United States.
As Superintendent of the Traffic Management Flight, he developed an innovative cost savings shipment method that saved the government over $22,000 in transportation costs. He supervised the processing and movement of approximately 4,900 critical shipments without a single delay and coordinated leased vehicle support for the President’s successful visit to New York State in 2013.
His preparation efforts for two simultaneous higher headquarters inspections were also key to the 174th Attack Wing’s first ever wing overall “excellent” rating.
Moade will now represent the Air National Guard at the Air Force level Logistics Readiness Awards Competition, pitting Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard logisticians against each other to be named the best in the force.
