SUNY Oneonta Fall 2013 Dean’s List
A total of 1569 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean’s List honors for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours of more.

Area Students Earn Spots on President’s List
The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 851 students to the President’s List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2013 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

To achieve the honor of being on the President’s List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
SUNY Oneonta Fall 2013 Provost’s List
A total of 153 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost’s List honors for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the Provost’s List, students must earn a perfect 4.0 GPA while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

RIT student-athlete earns honors
Liberty League commissioner Tracy King recently announced the 483 fall sport student-athletes who have qualified for the league’s All-Academic Teams in their respective sports — including a total of 34 student-athletes from Rochester Institute of Technology.
The student-athletes include:
Luke Dorsey, a sophomore on the men’s soccer team. Dorsey, from Cazenovia is in RIT’s economics/industrial engineering program.
The Liberty League’s fall championship sports include men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.
“The student-athletes in the Liberty League have consistently performed at high levels academically,” said King. “These young men and women continue to demonstrate that it is possible to not only succeed academically, but to achieve athletically at the highest level in Division III. I congratulate and salute them on their outstanding achievements.”
Area Students Named to Hartwick College Dean’s List
The following area students have been named to the fall term Dean’s List at Hartwick:
Hartwick College senior Benjamin Olmstead of Cazenovia, son of Winifred and Philip Olmstead. Olmstead is majoring in anthropology.
Hartwick College junior Sean Coppola of Canastota, son of Colette and Frank Coppola. Coppola is majoring in geology.
Hartwick College junior Taylor Jaquays of Waterville. Jaquays is majoring in political science and economics.
Hartwick College junior William Slentz of Sherburne, son of Cynthia and Louis Slentz. Slentz is majoring in history.
Hartwick College first-year student Ross Braue of Canastota. Braue is majoring in geology and cognates for a second major.
Inclusion on Hartwick’s Dean List is an indication of excellent academic work, including the completion of a full course load with at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
Waterville Resident Makes Dean’s List
Patrick Carroll, Waterville resident and a student at Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,100 students who made the Dean’s List in the Fall 2013 semester.
Earlville Resident Makes President’s List
Margret Caton, Earlville resident and a student at Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,000 students who made the President’s List in the Fall 2013 semester.
Gysin Named to Dean’s List
Sumire Gysin of Sherburne has earned High Honors for the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year at the University of New Hampshire.
Students named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.
Part-Time Students Honored for Academics
Area students recently received Part-Time Honors for their outstanding academic performance during the Fall 2013 semester at SUNY Canton.
“Congratulations to our students who earned Part-Time Honors for the Fall 2013 semester! The provost, deans, faculty and I are very proud of the way you applied your best efforts to the semester’s coursework,” said SUNY Canton Acting President Joseph C. Hoffman. “The work ethic and the enthusiasm for learning you develop here at the College will serve you well in your professional careers after graduation.”
Part-Time Honors are awarded to students earning at least a 3.25 grade point average on six to 11 credit hours.
Among the students to receive Part-Time Honors were:
Connie S. Hubbell a SUNY Canton Bachelor of Science in Nursing major from Canastota. Hubbell is a 1983 graduate of Canastota High School.
Kyle Choquette a SUNY Canton Bachelor of Science in Nursing major from Chittenango. Choquette is a 2004 graduate of Morrisville-Eaton Central School.
April Worlock a SUNY Canton Bachelor of Science in Nursing major from Earlville. Worlock is a 2000 graduate of Franklin Academy High School.
Gwennan A. Carlson a SUNY Canton Veterinary Services Management major from Kirkville. Carlson is a 2000 graduate of Homer Senior High School.
Grace Schwatz a SUNY Canton Dental Hygiene major from Morrisville. Schwatz is a 2010 graduate of Morrisville-Eaton Central School.
