(Canastota, NY – Feb. 2014) The Great Swamp Conservancy knows that hunters are good stewards of the outdoors and is pleased to be offering hunter safety and archery safety classes this spring, taught by Robert Holdridge. Certification is required for obtaining a hunting license. All registrations must be done in person.
Registration for the hunter safety class is Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the GSC office building. Youth ages 11 to 16 must have a parent with them to sign the registration papers.
The classes are to be held Tuesday March 4 and Thursday March 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. both days. The third class will be held at Chittenango Rod and Gun Club 8 a.m. Saturday, March 8 for outdoor exercises.
Registration for archery safety classes will be March 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the GSC office building. Youth ages 11 to 16 must be accompanied by a parent to sign the registration. The classes will be held Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. The second class is an outdoor exercise Saturday March 29 at 8 a.m. at the GSC.
