Hamilton Public Library News
By Hilary Virgil, Library Director
(Hamilton, NY – Feb. 2014) It was wonderful to see so many people attend the recent Exceptional Art Exhibit reception! We would again like to thank our friends from the following organizations for arranging this wonderful opportunity: Heritage Farm; The ARC, Oneida-Lewis Chapter; Madison-Cortland ARC; Central New York DSO; ARISE; Herkimer Area Resource Center; Resource Center for Independent Living; the Hamilton Public Library Friends of the Library group. The Exceptional Art exhibit will continue to be on display throughout February and the beginning of March.
Did you know that safe disposal of medications helps to prevent prescription drug abuse and environmental harm caused through improper disposal? The Hamilton Public Library is partnering with the Hamilton Area Community Coalition and the Hamilton Police Department to host a free medication disposal event on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 11am-1pm, in the back hallway by the library’s community room. This is an excellent time to properly dispose of your unwanted and expired medications. In addition to prescription medications, patches and ointments, vitamins, over-the-counter medications, and veterinary medications will also be accepted during this time. For more information, please contact BRIDGES at (315) 697-3947.
