Cazenovia Public Library news
(Cazenovia, NY – Feb. 2014) Have you ever wondered about Cazenovia history or events that happened in the surrounding area in the past? Through the continued generosity of the Friends, the Cazenovia Public Library now has a Digital Newspaper Collection that includes newspapers starting in the early 19th Century and continuing through 1989.
To learn about the new database and tips for effective searching, all are invited to join staff member Elisha Davies in the library’s Community Room on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Digital Newspaper Collection includes nine different Cazenovia and Madison County newspapers, all of which can now be accessed not only from the library, but also from home or from any mobile device.
“It’s been amazing the number of calls we’ve received from people as far away as Vermont who were planning a trip to use our archives but now can do their research from home,” states Library Director Betsy Kennedy. “What a tremendous asset the digital database is for them!”
The use of the database and the Feb. 27 class are both free and open to the public.
For more information on this class or other events at the Cazenovia Public Library, call 655-9322 or visit www.cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
