(Hamilton, NY – Feb. 2014) Children and adults of all ages are invited to ‘Seuss Saturday’ throughout the village of Hamilton on Saturday, March 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the day’s programs and activities is free (unless indicated with a ‘$’). Visit colgatebookstore.com/seuss for the most up-to-date schedule of events and a printable map of the festivities.

Schedule of events:

8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Green Eggs & Ham at the Barge Canal Coffee Company ($) Enjoy some Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast and hear the story (readings at 8:15am, 8:45am, 9:30am will also be presented in sign-language). Then, make a craft you can wear the whole day through. [7 Lebanon Street]

10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Meet the Cat in the Hat at the Colgate Bookstore. Listen to a story, meet the Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2, and make a mask craft.  Don’t forget your cameras! [3 Utica Street, 3rd Floor Events Room]

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Drop-in craft time at the Hamilton Center for the Arts. Walk-in anytime to make your own whatch-a-majig! [19 Lebanon Street]

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Story time with guest readers at the Hamilton Public Library. [13 Broad Street]

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Seussville Computer Lab at the Hamilton Public Library. Explore wacky and wild online games and activities inspired by Dr. Seuss stories. [13 Broad Street]

12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.: “Horton Hears a Who” at the Hamilton Movie Theater. Come see the movie for free.  Don’t forget to order some Hop-on-Pop popcorn ($). [7 Lebanon Street]

3-4 p.m.: Interactive story-telling of “The Lorax” at the Hamilton Center for the Arts. [19 Lebanon Street]

Dr. Seuss is the pen name of beloved children’s author Theodore Seuss Geisel, who was born on March 2, 1904. He wrote 46 children’s books, including the best-selling Green Eggs & Ham, The Cat in the Hat, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
