(Canastota, NY – March 2014) Pastor Tom Burgess of Hope Christian Fellowship, located at 119 South Peterboro St. will be preaching a special four-part series on Sunday mornings from March 30 through Easter, April 20. Sunday worship services begin at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
The series will be illustrated with video clips from “Son of God,” the hit feature film produced by the husband-and-wife team of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey that is currently in theatrical release. Burnett created such hit shows as “Survivor,” “The Voice,” “The Apprentice,” and “Shark Tank.” Downey is best known for her role on the TV show “Touched by an Angel.”
The “Son of God” film brings to life the story of Jesus Christ. This series will impact people on different levels, whether devout believers or honest skeptics. Wherever one may be in life’s journey, everyone is invited to join us as together we seek to answer the question, “Who is Jesus?”
Each week, we will consider different aspects of the mission and ministry of Jesus. Week 1 on March 30 is entitled “The Son of Man.” Week 2 on April 6 is entitled “The Sinner’s Friend.” Week 3 on April 13 is entitled “The Anointed One.” The series culminates on Easter, April 20, with a sermon entitled “The Coming King.”
