(Madison, Herkimer, Oneida Counties, NY – March 2014) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida Counties presents a Connecting with Kids Workshop, “Creating Healthy Child Athletes: Body, Mind & Spirit”- Part II.  The second session of this two part event will be held on Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County located at 121 Second Street in Oriskany.  This program is free.

Topics will include: “Sports Nutrition,” presented by Lora Ragazzo, MBA, RD, CDN, as well as “Balancing Academics and Athletics” and “Dealing With Drama” presented by Dan Stalteri and P.J. Anadio, Herkimer College Softball Coaches

Kids should have at least sixty minutes of physical activity per day.  Knowing how to maximize a young persons’ enthusiasm for physical activity will help create healthier youth as well as help you be a better coach.  Learn how to motivate our young people to want to be more involved in healthy eating, sports and physical activity.

The next Connecting With Kids Workshop will be held on April 23, 2014 at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County.  Designing STEM Activities to Complement Neural Development in Children will be presented by Dr. Bryant Wysocki.

Connecting with Kids is a free workshop series for human service providers, school district personnel, youth organization staff, childcare providers, coaches, volunteers, parents and anyone who is interested in the well-being of our youth.
