(Cazenovia, NY – April 2014) Calling all kids ages 8-14! Come to the Cazenovia Public Library on Thursday, April 10 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and celebrate the half-day of school with “Art For Kids.” Join Pat Hill and Jenna Wright for the final installment of this successful series and “Enter Monet’s Garden and Create a Terrarium.”
Considered the father of French Impressionist Painting, Claude Monet mastered the ability to capture the movement, changing light, and color of his surroundings. His flower and water gardens inspired many of his renowned works.
Participants will be given the opportunity to create Monet-inspired art of their own. Paper, watercolor pencils, and paints will be provided to inspire and enhance each creation. Additional supplies will also be provided to create individual garden terrariums.
At the April 10th event, participants will have a final chance to win a beautiful art collection, donated to the library by a good friend who wants children to unleash the artist within. A single name will be drawn, and the winner will be notified by phone.
The art collection consists of 178 pieces and includes just about everything an artist would need—color markers, crayons, color pencils, watercolor cakes, oil pastels, acrylic paint tubes, and much more—all arranged in a beautiful wooden case with adjustable trays.
Don’t miss the chance to join the fun at the Cazenovia Public Library on April 10th. Pre-registration is not required for this program.
