The loss drops the Mustangs to 5-4 overall, 2-1 in conference action, while Keuka improves to 6-2 overall, 2-0 in NEAC play.

Hunter Waldau (Central Square, N.Y.) led the Morrisville State efforts with three goals while three additional teammates notched one apiece.

Cailin Dunphy (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) recorded the loss in net, registering eight stops on the day.

Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.) posted the first tally for the Mustangs on the day, notching the score just two and a half minutes into the contest on a free position shot, before Keuka responded with a score of their own nearly five minutes later to tie the game at one.

Waldau regained the one goal advantage for Morrisville State at15:20 with a second free position score, but the lead was short lived as Keuka responded with a 7-0 run to claim the 8-2 lead at the half.

The Storm added another in the opening seconds of the second period, before Morrisville State rattled off three straight tallies over the next six minutes to cut the Keuka lead to four.

A free position shot by Keuka at 21:46 put the hosts up by five, but 46 seconds later, Ally Zlinsky (Owego, N.Y.) responded with an unassisted tally for the Mustangs to again make it a four goal game.

That’s as close as Morrisville State would get however, as Keuka scored the final four goals of the contest to secure the win.

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, hosting SUNY Potsdam at 1 p.m. on Drake Field.
