(Madison, NY – April 2014) The Town of Madison Historical Society presents a talk by Sue Greenhagen on Galutia York’s Civil War letters on Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Madison Historical building, South Street, Madison.

Greenhagen will show a PowerPoint about Soldier York’s letters to home during the Civil War; a story of the service of an 18 year-old from Hubbardsville, Madison County.  While in the service he wrote home to his family at least once a week.  His letters describe army life, the trials and tribulations he faced, and his feelings concerning the war.

Greenhagen is the town of Eaton and village of Morrisville historian. She is a favorite presenter at the Madison Historical Society and receives a wide audience.
We invite the public to attend this free program, however, donations, which help support the Speaker Program, are welcome.

The Madison Historical Society will meet at 6:30 pm., prior to the program. Please plan to attend to see what local history can do for you.
