(Madison County, NY – April 2014) The Madison County Dairy Promotion Committee is seeking individuals between the ages of 8 to 23 who are interested in promoting the dairy industry. Individuals between the ages of 8 to 15 would be Dairy Ambassadors and young ladies between the ages of 16 to 23 are eligible for the title of Madison County Dairy Princess. The next Madison County Dairy Princess will be crowned on Sunday, May 25 beginning at 1 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Ag Center, 100 Eaton St. in Morrisville. All are asked to bring a favorite dessert featuring dairy products.
The event will begin with dessert followed by the crowning ceremony, and the naming of this year’s Distinguished Dairy Ambassador. The public is invited to attend.
The Dairy Princess Program is an important part of the communications team at American Dairy Association and Dairy Council, Inc. The Princesses and Ambassadors truly demonstrate hard work, love for the industry, endless energy, and grass-roots efforts in order to reach consumers on a daily basis.
County and state dairy princesses work tirelessly to spread the positive message about dairy. These young industry spokespersons promote dairy products through newspaper and television interviews, parades, farm events, ADADC programs, and a lot of one-on-one time with consumers.
