Schedule of Events for Memorial Day Monday
(Town of Eaton, NY – May 2014) Eaton Day will be celebrated in the Hamlet of Eaton on Monday, May 26. Here is a schedule of events for the day. The day will mark the 130th Anniversary of the Incorporation of the Eaton Cemetery Association and will honor our War Veterans.
9:30 am on Route 26 near Post Office
Main tent opens with Bake Sale, Book Sale, Crafts, and Gift Shop, Basket Raffles, Hop Plant Sale, plus Cemetery Association table.
10:00 am
Parade to Cemetery where 2 women and one Spanish American War veteran will be honored. Museum will open on River Road.
12:00 pm
Speaker will do presentations in the tent next to the museum on River Road.
They include:
12:30 – Mike Curtis on growing hops and he will have hops for sale.
1:00 – Madison County Historian Matt Urtz will do a presentation on our WWII Veteran’s.
1:30 -Bob Betz will speak on how the Chenango Canal Works and sign his book on the Canal and Reservoirs.
1-3 pm at Events Tent
