GSC logo high res(Town of Lenox, NY – June 2014) The Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 North Main St. in Canastota is hosting a traveling exhibition on the evolution of maize. The exhibit is produced by the “Museum of the Earth,” Ithaca and funded by The National Science Foundation.

Eye popping graphics and inter-actives provide an understanding of the evolution and diversity of maize. Explore why it has become one of our most significant crops, and discover why it continues to surprise us today.

Tuesday July 1 is opening day and will remain open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 26.

Group attendance may be arranged after open hours. This exhibit can be an enjoyable learning experience for adults, students and families with children 6 and up.

Donations will be accepted as you leave based on your experience.
