(Cazenovia, NY – July 2014) All are invited to the Cazenovia Public Library for “Creativity Plus,” two classes offered by local residents—“Illustrate Your Family History” with Sue McCullough on Thursday July 10 at 1 p.m. and “Altered Book Arts,” with Allyn Stewart on Thursday July 17 from 2 to 5 p.m.
McCullough has developed a new way to visualize your family history. With boxes of genealogy materials from several branches of her family, she searched for a simple and practical way to share all of the accumulated information with other family members.
At the July 10 class, McCullough will demonstrate her solution—how scrapbooks with removable pages make it possible for several people to share scrapbooks at the same time. Whether a seasoned genealogist or hobbyist, an expert or novice, we all want to share our family history; McCullough will offer suggestions for how to make that possible.
On July 17, Stewart will demonstrate how books can be transformed into art. Her power point presentation will include examples of book art to get everyone familiar with the many possibilities. Books and craft materials will be provided or you can bring your own book as well as any items or decorations you would like to add, including copies of family pictures. Please register for this class at 655-9322 so that enough materials are available.
Both classes are free and open to the public and will be held in the Library Community Room. All are welcome and will discover that they, too, can turn something ordinary into something very special.
