To the Editor:

(Hamilton, NY – July 2014) I would like to take this opportunity to offer on behalf of the Lloyd V. Evans Post #375 of the American Legion a heartfelt “Thank You” to all who attended our annual 4th of July observance held at the Hamilton Area Veterans Memorial.

The turnout was very encouraging and response from the audience was more than we expected.

I would also like to publicly thank the members of the Honor Guard from Clifford J. Fulmer Post #92 of the American Legion in Waterville. The 4th of July Parade planners put the word out that the Legion here in Hamilton might be in need of some help with presenting our nation’s colors at the ceremony and with marching in the Parade, as our ranks here in the Hamilton Legion are shrinking.

They heeded the call, showed up in force, looking sharp and did a wonderful job of helping us with all events.

We in Post #375 are much appreciative of our Brothers in Arms for coming to our aid. In fact, while talking with these guys after the parade, the thought was we might just do this again in the future.

In any event, thanks to all who made this a great 4th of July. God bless all of you, and God bless America.

Ben Barrett, Commander, Post #375
