(Madison County, NY – Aug. 2014) The U.S. Department of Agriculture and Markets has issued a limited number of coupons redeemable at local farmer’s markets.
To be eligible you must be age 60 or over and affirm that you are low income based on one or more of the following criteria: Eligible for or currently receiving SSI, Public Assistance, Section 8 HUD Subsidy, or have an income of less than $1,800.00 per month if single or $2,426.00 per month if married.
Coupons are worth $20 in Farmer’s Market products. (Each booklet has 5 checks of $4 each). One booklet per married couple.
The coupons are free and can be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at any participating Farmer’s Market. They cannot be used at a grocery store. Coupons will be issued on a first come, first served basis to eligible seniors at the Office for the Aging, 138 Dominic Bruno Blvd, Canastota.

Cazenovia
Cannon Park, Albany Street, Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (10 a.m. September through November)
Chittenango
Dr. West Park, Genesee Street (across from Chittenango Fire Department), Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. (mid-May through October)
Hamilton
Village green between Broad and East Broad streets, Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (early May through early November)
Oneida
Oneida and Williams streets, Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (late June through October)
