Straight From The Source
Head Coach Kathy Brawn on Friday’s Match
• “We had a terrific week of practice and we saw those things play out tonight on the field against a good Vermont team. Our players executed things the way we wanted them too and they had a good spark about the way they were doing things.

“It took us a little while to get that spark today but once we did, we moved the ball well, maintained possession and played good soccer on both sides of the ball.”

Brawn on Raepple, Brawner and Manoogian’s Three-Point Performances
• “Those three players bring so much to the table. Their soccer IQ’s are so high and they are very talented as athletes. They are really good at being corporative and carrying out what it is we are trying to do.

“They play so well together, it’s fun to watch them. Whether they are starting or not starting it doesn’t make a difference to them. We’ve asked our team to suspend the belief of starting being the most important thing in the world. You can see it as we bring people in that things don’t change in terms of level of play. Everybody contributes and those three really epitomize that philosophy.”

Brawn on Facing UMass. Lowell in Sunday’s Game
“We never played them before. They had a terrific game plan against Syracuse and on a day that it was 87 degrees, even higher on the turf, they were really discipline about things. They were playing good soccer and have some good personalities on the field. We’ve got some ideas about what we want to do tomorrow in preparation for Sunday and we are expecting them to come out and be well prepared for us.

“We will build on the good things from today and be ready for them on Sunday.”
