(Canastota, NY- Oct. 2014) Adventure out to the Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 N. Main St., Canastota, for the Non-Scary Halloween Fun Days for children and adults from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26. With an environmental twist in many of the unique Halloween displays during the daylight hours, a child accompanied by an adult can experience a warm welcome by the “Good Witch” brewing up surprises.
Follow the path to find “Bat Woman,” the arachnid area, the bird sanctuary, Nemo, Old MacDonald’s Farm, face painting, the famous pumpkin voting, talking Pumpkin. Halloween hands-on projects, Ratzo, corny sandbox, games will be featured, as well as food at Frankenstein’s Café.
New this year is a ride on the new GSC “Gator” and individual or family portraits taken in costume (or not). The photos are produced at the event and matted by the Swamp Snappers Camera Club. Halloween stories will be shared every hour on the half hour. Children may try their luck at a Halloween piñata every hour on the hour.
