(New Woodstock, NY – Oct. 2014) Award-winning comedian Steve Hayes brings his zany humor and vast knowledge of film history to the New Woodstock Public Library. Taken from his informative and often hilarious YouTube show, “STEVE HAYES: Tired Old Queen at the Movies LIVE!” Hayes will be discussing the Film Noir genre and the classic crime melodrama “Double Indemnity (1944).

Following a screening of the film, he will answer questions from the audience. Filled with irreverent humor, anecdotes and unexpected surprises, its 90 minutes of the best show in town at The New Woodstock Public Library, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27. Admission is free; reservations are appreciated.

Hayes, who now lives in New York City, is a native of New Woodstock. He graduated from Cazenovia High School, studied at OCC and the SUNY at Oneonta and taught at Cazenovia College. He recently appeared as a guest host on Turner Classic Movies with Robert Osborne.

He starred in Fine Line Features classic film comedy “Trick” and countless musicals. He appeared in Suessical: The Musical,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “The Music Man,” Man of LaMancha” and “The Pirates of Penzance.”

He also recently performed in “Hairspray” and “Hamlet” at the Red House Theatre in Syracuse.

Hayes will be co-starring with John Bixler, in the hilarious, award winning comedy; “The Penguin Tango,” written and directed by Stephen Svoboda at The Red House Arts Center in Syracuse.

Children’s story hour is held every Tuesday at 11 a.m. Family movie night is held the third Friday of every month. The movies begin at 7 p.m.

The library is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday and Wednesday evenings 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library also is open whenever the flags are flying out front.
